API-IP selects Tokheim to deliver fully unmanned service stations
Tokheim has been chosen by API-IP, a leading Italian oil company, to help deliver a fully unmanned service station concept called “IP-Matic”. The first IP-Matic site was successfully launched in Genoa and further installations are to follow in the coming months. The concept ensures the motorist is guided through the refuelling and payment process via instructions and through the intuitive user interface onsite. All operations are managed remotely at API-IP head office and are also monitored by the Tokheim Italy service team.

The fully automated sites utilise Tokheim’s dispensers, outdoor payment terminals, wetstock solutions and site management software. One of the main features of the concept is the use of Tokheim’s outdoor payment terminal, the Crypto VGA. The touchscreen interface not only guides the motorist through the payment process, it also issues refunds, provides a secure cash housing solution and also provides a central point for tanker drivers to use their ID cards to refuel the underground storage tanks. Tokheim ProGauge suite of tank gauges, consoles and probes provide a complete set of environmental and wetstock management solutions for API-IP. Plus, the IP-Matic sites benefit from Tokheim’s Quantium multi-product fuel dispensers, which are proven to have lower service interventions than other leading dispensers in the field.
Fabiano Clerico, GM of Tokheim Italy, says “We are delighted to partner with API-IP on this innovative concept. They are clearly an important player in the market with thousands of stations across the whole of Italy. Tokheim’s experience in consistently delivering high quality automated solutions for our customers has been a key factor in us securing this contract. We look forward to delivering a solution that will add value to our client’s business.”
Tokheim delivers 1000+ fuel dispensers to CPC Taiwan
Tokheim was awarded the contract to build and deliver 1,002 Quantium fuel dispensers to CPC. All the dispensers were manufactured at Tokheim’s Dundee plant before being shipped to Taiwan where Tokheim’s distributor, Golden Gate Engineering & Development, working closely with CPC and certified installers, will install and commission the products over the next five years. CPC selected a mix of Tokheim’s high end multi-product Quantium 410 dispensers together with Quantium 210 dispensers for their network.

With a population of 23 million people, Taiwan has a rapidly expanding economy, which is ranked in the global top 20 today. CPC has over 70% of the domestic market through its island-wide, 2,028-strong gas-station network – which comprises both directly-operated and franchised outlets. The CPC distribution network also includes supply to aviation depots and marine filling stations around Taiwan.
Bill Arundel, Tokheim Sales and Marketing Director, says, “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by CPC. This was a challenging manufacturing and logistics project for Tokheim and our Dundee plant. It is relatively unusual to have a tender requesting the procurement of such a large number of dispensers and for them to be delivered all at once. We have worked closely with our distributor in Taiwan, Golden Gate, who have done a remarkable work to find the best possible solution for the client. We look forward to supporting CPC in its mission to provide their customers with supreme quality, and reliable energy supplies.”

Q8 and Tokheim partner to develop the world’s third largest service station
Tokheim is proud to announce that it was selected as a partner of Q8 to develop one of the world’s largest ever service stations. It delivers more than a staggering 100 million litres of fuel per annum via Tokheim’s Quantium dispensers.
Tokheim was selected by Q8 to supply and install a range of fuel dispensers, systems and payment terminals on the mega-site. In total, Tokheim installed 41 Quantium fuel dispensers including multi-product, high-speed, AdBlue® and LPG dispensers. Motorway service stations in Luxembourg are well-known stops for tourists, since filling up the tank in Luxembourg is generally more advantageous in price than in other European countries. The new Q8 branded station on the E25 highway will not only meet price related expectations of customers, but will also ‘ease the journey’ for motorists who are looking a 24-hours a day full service petrol station that offers complete services.
“We are of course very proud of the fact that the Q8 flag is now flying over the third-largest service station in the world,” says Azzam Al Mutawa, Managing Director Kuwait Petroleum North West Europe. “This opening certainly represents a major step in our development strategy in the Benelux. Tokheim scoops business innovation award in London
Tokheim and OneAccess, jointly received an award at the 2014 Global Telecoms Business (GTB) Innovation Awards held in London. The network access solution – which delivers secure, high-availability multi-service VPN, enabling centralized management of petrol forecourts worldwide – beat of stiff competition to receive the “Business Service Innovation Award”.
Tokheim connects its customers’ forecourts via a purpose-built international network which supports a range of critical business processes including management, monitoring, payment, maintenance and support. Tokheim selected OneAccess because of their ability to provide strategic and technical support together with the network access equipment.
In partnership with OneAccess, which offers the widest range of access technologies available in the market, a highly reliable, secure and future-proofed network was developed by configuring the OneAccess multi-service access routers. The solution has been integrated in the existing infrastructure in order to centralize the network’s monitoring and management capabilities and optimize the performance of the applications that enable the filling pumps, POS terminals and other devices deployed on its customers’ forecourts.
Tokheim can now remotely provision the network enabling it to enhance operational efficiencies and can, as a result of the implementation, securely utilize the local ISP network connections according to each location’s available access methods.
“By working together with Tokheim, we were able to configure a future-proofed, centrally managed network that can flex and scale in accordance with the changing demands of the business,” comments Bertrand Meis, CEO, OneAccess. “The end result is a network architecture that not only meets today’s needs, but can also support the introduction of future services that could further enhance performance. We are delighted that this project has been recognized by the telecoms industry with a GTB award.”
Tokheim has supplied YPF in Argentina with a set of Quantium 410 fuel dispensers on their newly developed site. The dispensers come complete with Tokheim’s 17-inch calculator and media screen all-in-one to help drive further revenue on the forecourt and via shop sales.

Tokheim high-end Quantium 410 dispensers were also selected for an unusual site in Escuintla, Guatemala. The station is situated at the foot of the spectacular volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.
Tokheim has further increased its customer base as well as its manufacturing capabilities across Central and South America. In Mexico, Tokheim’s partner Quantium Quality, has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Puebla. This is the second operating in Latin America, following the Precision Brasil’s manufacturing facility in Sao Paolo, which opened 2 years ago.
Quantium Quality will assemble, supply, install and maintain dispensers featuring Tokheim components to the Mexican market.

Tokheim ProFleet is launching a new secure hosting service called DiaHOST for the commercial fleet market. The original DiaLOG fuel management systems were designed for internal connection within the customers network so that after installation the customer managed all data handling and storage. DiaHOST offers a new solution where Tokheim ProFleet can now store and manage the client’s data via the cloud.
The key benefits of DiaHOST over an internal connection are:
A turn-key solution, disconnected from the customer’s network
Reduced cost of installation, no need for additional hardware
Online data back-up
Increased security through HTTPS encryption
Software updates with latest functionalities
Reduced cost of maintenance (remote support, preventative maintenance)
Immediate access (set-up database and training before installation)
In June this year, Tokheim Spain installed the very first “Automatric” solution.
Crypto VGA touchscreen.
The Automatric payment solution is based on automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) by a camera surveillance system, instead of using a physical payment card such as a credit or debit card.
The digital CCTV camera solution, Tokheim Eye, reads the number plate and cross checks it on the Fuel POS database for payment. The secure solution dramatically reduces the time it takes to fill and pay for a fuelling transaction. Additional information and a PIN can be entered on the Crypto VGA touchscreen, Tokheim’s outdoor payment terminal, if required. Tokheim plans to expand the ”Automatric” solution after the successful installation in Spain.
DISA has opened its first site that showcases its complete new brand concept in Tenerife. Tokheim partnered with DISA to deliver a complete service including multi-product fuel dispensers and point of sale (POS) solutions.
On the forecourt Quantium dispensers were installed between the columns supporting the canopies for a sleek new look. Inside the shop Tokheim Fuel POS will handle all wetstock and c-store functionality via a feature rich point of sale system. DISA also required a solution for a centralised customer database for invoicing purposes based on the customer’s VAT number. This is now handled via a connection from the Tokheim Konnect back-office and the front end Fuel POS.

The Tokheim Acis company in the Czech Republic successfully passed the recertification of ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 and SCC – P:2011 standards. SCC – P:2011 – the Safety Certificate Personal Provider is a specific international safety management system standard focused on the petrochemical and oil industries. The independent, internationally accredited authority, Bureau Veritas, conducted the recertification audit.
The certifications confirm that the company management system of work safety and environmental protection is maintained, properly documented and constantly improved. The main benefit of these standards certification is transparency of company performance, higher customer satisfaction, higher company prestige and strengthening its credibility.
Tokheim significantly increased its presence at this year’s NACS 2014 in Las Vegas, USA. One of fuel retailing’s largest events saw Tokheim showcase its latest products and services for the North American and Latin American markets. Alongside the Group’s South & Latin American partners – Precision Brasil and ATS Meridian –Tokheim demonstrated its Quantium range of fuel dispensers with integrated media, ProFleet solutions for the fleet industry, ProGauge tank gauges and consoles and Fairbanks wetstock management solutions.
